My Favorite book, destroyed.
This was one of the best stories Clancy ever wrote, the book was a masterpiece. All they had to do was make a script, copy the story directly and they would have had one hell of a hit action movie. Everything in this book was deliberate and required to understand who Mr. Clark was. I understand it is difficult to capture a book perfectly on the big screen, however this movie didn't even attemp it. I don't think the people involved in this have even read the book. They took the authors name, book title and a few names in the book and made a movie that had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the book. The stories are not even similar! I waited almost 30 years to see this masterpiece made into a movie and they couldn't have dissapointed me more. This was absolute GARBAGE! If you've seen 1 Tom Clancy movie, you've seen them all...
..... But, it's a good thing I really like Tom Clancy's movies!
There was just something about this one that seemed lacking. Maybe the plot was just too weak, and easily predictable? Just like the ending... ooohhh, I bet no one saw that coming? LOL
I'm not sure if this was a part of the 'Tom Clancy universe with his other movies/books take place. There's just that 'je ne sais quoi' missing from this movie. There's plenty of action, but it mostly follows the standard script of, 'you killed my family... prepare to die' Haven't we seen enough of this yet?
RECOMMENDATION: If you LOVE Tom Clancy movies, you'll LIKE this one!!
