Good but the first one is better.
The suits definitely got an upgrade even the cgi. The comedy wasn't as good as the first one. Zachary Levi still killed it as Shazam! It's a shame this one didn't do as well as the first one. Unfortunately, I don't think we will get a third one. Wish the comedy was better. The storyline wasn't as great. It felt like DC focused too much on the CGI versus the story. Don't get me wrong, the cgi was great but this film was definitely longing for more. It's a shame the DCEU ended the way it did. But I think it's in good hands now with James Gunn at the helm for DC. Hopefully Zachary Levi stays as Shazam! But we will see.

Superhero sequel with spectacular action, family relationships, lots of humor and fantastic special effects.
Shazam and his family of teenage superheroes will have to face the daughters of the Titan Atals in this sequel to the successful and blockbuster film Shazam! From the extended universe of DD comics. The action begins two years after Billy Batson became the superhero Shazam, defeated the evil Thaddeus Sivana and broke the wizard's magic staff, a staff that the daughters of the titan Atlas, Hespera and Calypso steal from the Acropolis museum in Athens. In order to regain his powers, Hespera (Helen Mirren) and Calypso (Lucy Liu) force the Wizard (whom they have imprisoned) to repair the staff and implement his evil plan to take over the world. In Philadelphia, Billy Batson (Zachary Levi) and his "Shazamily" of foster siblings save people on the collapsing Benjamin Franklin Bridge, but are called out for its destruction. The foster siblings all got their own superpowers after killing the seven demons, who were conjured when Wizard died. The group is drifting apart at home as they grow up and have their own personal interests, in particular the eldest girl, Mary (Grace Caroline Currey) (Billy's mature and academically-driven older foster sister), who resents that her secret life as a superhero has prevented her from going to college. Billy is worried about being kicked out of the Vasquez family when he "ages out" of the foster system. Eugene Choi (Ross Butler and Ian Chen) (Billy's younger foster brother who is an obsessive gamer) & Darla Dudley (Meagan Good and Faithe Herman) (Billy's good-natured younger foster sister). Freddy Freeman (Jack Dylan Grazer and Adam Brody) (Billy's physically disabled foster brother, who is a fan of superheroes), still bullied at school, falls for a new girl named Anne (Rachel Zegler). If you want to save the world, say the magic word !. Oh. My. Gods. Just say the word. He's not so serious. Every Hero Has A Secret. Just Say the Word.

This second installment once again offers adventure, fantasy, and humor for the whole family in a fun story of the fight of good over evil. There are several roles that repeat their performances, as well as new ones, and the addition of Helen Mirren, Lucy Liu and Rachel Zegler. Thse last roles, the daughters of Atlas do not appear in the comics, they are original characters created for the film. And brief appearance of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, in fact Billy Batson having a crush on Wonder Woman comes from the "Power of Shazam" comic book. The film is particularly about our friendly superheroes and the theft of a powerful staff; this staff had the power of 7 Gods: Solomon, Hercules, Atlas, Zeus, Achilles, and Mercury. Shazam! (originally known as Captain Marvel) was the subject of Hollywood's first ever superhero film adaptation: Republic Pictures' Adventure of the captain Marvel in 1941. According to the filmmakers, the hardest part of designing the suit was getting the thunderbolt design to fit into the triangular chestplate. This film releases on the 85th anniversary of Captain Marvel's debut. Both DC Comics and Marvel Comics have a hero called Captain Marvel whose feature film adaptations both star Djimon Hounsou and were both released in 2019. The differences are: ¡Shazam! (2019) is a male teenager who received godly powers and a superhuman form, Capitana Marvel (2019) is a female superhero who received alien powers and retained her original form.

The motion picture was professionally directed by David F. Sandberg, but with no originaility becauses it copies the similar elements of the previous entry. He is a Swedish film director , a fine craftsman who is known for directing the superhero comedy film ¨Shazam¨¨ and the horror films ¨Lights Out¨ and ¨Annabelle: Creation¨. David lives on the autism spectrum and he also provided the voice of Mister Mind at the end of Shazam and made several short horror films throughout his career. Rating : 5.5/10, acceptable and passable sequel that will appeal to superheroes buffs .
