A light comedy with a small bit of action for Nick Cage fans
This is a film specifically made for Nicholas Cage shelf at the video store, so to speak. The script is something he would have had a hard time saying no to. He says yes to too many projects, but this time he found a role that is likable enough. He plays himself. Or ar leadt a fictional version of himself. The movie's self referential qualities do not get involved in order to be much of a selling point on their own, but they are enough to propel the movie through its relatively fast paced narrative.

It would be unnecessary to know anythinh about the film's plotline before seeing it. The story was just enough to keep me interested consistently but never overtly impressed. Even Cage, so often worth watching even while over acting in a bonkers, chewing the scenery way, is relatively subdued here. The film has a few ideas, each propelling the runtime of five minutes or so before moving on, but not in a way that is worth a second viewing. The script ticks off all the right boxes but is merely serviceable at best.

If you are any type of Cage fan and the movie is cheap to watch (i.e. Free), you will likely not be dissatisfied with the product. Its runtime goes by relatively smoothly, and the pacing is really brisk and fluid. Mostly, here is an instance when it is worth congratulating Nick on a project actually worth making. I hope he was awarded with a nice payday.

Vaguely worth seeing. However, you likely could do better, no matter what type of mood you are in.

    6/10.

    NO FU************KING NOTES!
Best movie I have ever seen. Ever. Nicholas Cage and Pedro Pescal have the best onscreen chemistry of any actors I have ever seen before in my entire life. I could not stop laughing the entire film. I've never actually taken the time to write a review for anything in my entire life, but I could not resist spreading the word on how big of a masterpiece this movie is. I wasn't even a huge Nicholas Cage fan! But seeing his comedic ability on screen and knowing he can play "himself" as such a tongue in cheek, typical self-involved Hollywood actor shows his good sense of humor is off screen. 10 out of 10!
