Lost my sight during movie. Bring tissues.
"If the dragon wants to fly high he must do so against the wind." - Lili's father

I love love loved this movie. I suggest when you watch it you pay attention to everything Lili's father says. So many gems. So many words of wisdom. He's by far my favorite character in the movie. (I wonder if he inspired Ming to become an eye doctor).

I love movies that make you feel and care about the characters. I was right there in the movie cheering people on with my fist in the air, holding my chest as my throat got tight, getting blurry vision from all the tears I cried.

It was so good and full of so much emotion. Great writing and great acting.

The beginning was very abrupt, hooked you in from the start. Very powerful.

The story of a child turned doctor (through so many challenges) was full of so much inspiration. Top 4 out of 1 million? Get out of town. That's crazy. That's like the ultimate Tiger Mom success story. If I ever become a tiger mom I want to use that story. '4 years in 2 months -- top 4 out of 1 million. Be like Dr. Ming Wang.' haha. Seriously though, sooooooo impressive.

I LOVED Ming's brother's ideas and his character. He was the comedy needed to break up the sadness.

Also, the super amazing bonus is that MING PLAYS THE ERHU!!! Oh my gosh. The erhu??? My favorite instrument ever! It's so beautiful. I will miss 10 trains and show up late to anywhere I'm going just to listen to someone play the erhu. I cried for the erhu's in this film, literally cried.

In case it's not obvious, I highly recommend this film. <3.

The most touching movie of this century
The movie starts with the story of a little Indian girl, whose mother is cruel to make her blind for money, then start with Dr. Wang's story from now and memories in China, which shows what happened to people during when Cultural Revolution in China, we should feel lucky we didn't grow up in these kind situations, change the angle of view, maybe that why Dr. Wang so excellent in the ophthalmology field because he's parents and experience. Anyway, this is new technology to make the blind see the world, the unique placenta contact lenses help people to fix various difficult diseases, which include cataracts, glaucoma, presbyopia and especially blindness...This is good news for humanity, and the most touching movie of this century.
