Extremely dumb but pretty ridiculous nonetheless
The movie takes place in los angeles where a vempire hunter named Bud need to make money for his daughter braces and school fee.

Lot of scenes in the plot just doesnt make sense and really lack detail like the details about the characters. The villain female real estate vempire and the side kick that. Also during the movie They pushed random action scenes that felt like they just came out of nowhere. But some of the scenes made so little sense that it just blew me out of laughter. Just laughing at this stupid movie. And I loved snoop dog parts. He is a pretty decent actor. Overall 6.5 in a good watch.

Only Memorable Because of the Cast
I like going into movies sometimes with no idea what they're about. Sometimes I get a wonderful surprise like "Silence of the Lambs," "The Ring," "Pulp Fiction," and "From Dusk til Dawn." And sometimes I get a complete letdown, and I can't even remember those titles.

I had no idea what "Day Shift" was about. It was in my Netflix queue so I watched it. It wasn't great, but I liked it.

"Day Shift" is a vampire movie. The vampire genre is so saturated that it would be hard for any movie to break into it with a successful film. In fact, I'll only remember this movie because Jamie Foxx and Snoop Dogg were in it.

Jamie Foxx played Bud Jablonski (something tells me he wasn't the actor in mind for this role), a vampire hunter. He hunts vampires by day and sells their teeth for a living. He needs to come up with around $11,000 to help out his ex-wife to prevent her from taking their daughter and moving to Florida. To do that Bud has to be reinstated into the vampire hunter's union. If Bud is in the union he can get union fees for the vampire teeth he collects instead of the cut rate independent contractor fees he gets.

He was well on his way to earning the money he needed until he crossed an uber-vampire named Audrey San Fernando (Karla Souza). He killed her daughter and she was going to stop at nothing to hunt Bud down and make him suffer.

While "Day Shift" had its moments, it had its drawbacks as well. Aside from not setting itself apart, it had a very cliche aspect to it.

From the beginning, when Bud was seen doting over his daughter, Paige (Zion Broadnax), you knew she would be somehow involved in getting back at Bud. It was just too obvious. I was expecting a kidnapping to hold her for a trade or as bait, but I also thought they wouldn't be that cliche.

    They were.

Audrey wanted to make Bud suffer, so instead of doing the easy thing and just killing his ex-wife and kid, she kidnapped them for her elaborate plan which she never got to implement. She was going to turn Paige into a vampire whereby she would then feed on her mother, Jocelyn (Meagan Good).

Oh yeah. And instead of simply killing Bud, she left him with a vampire as food. And of course that didn't work.

This movie will only be memorable because of its cast: Jamie Foxx, Dave Franco, Meagan Good, Peter Stormare, and Snoop Dogg. We can also throw in there Scott Adkins who is most noted for the "Undisputed" sequels. Take away these stars and starlets and this movie doesn't move the needle nearly as much.
