    INSIDIOUS: THE RED DOOR
This supernatural horror film is a direct sequel to Insidious: Chapter 2 and the fifth installment in the franchise. Nine years after Josh's possession, Dalton's college dream soon becomes a living nightmare when the repressed demons of his past suddenly return to haunt them both, and they must go deeper into The Further than ever before to put them to rest once and for all. Patrick Wilson's directorial debut is not bad, but the screenplay leaves much to be desired, with a terrible third act that convinces no one with its predictability. It starts to develop a compelling storyline with a haunting atmosphere until it just fails to bring it back to a satisfying conclusion through a very mediocre climax. It wastes most of its characters, and not even the family drama or the scary monsters save this film from being forgettable.

    The Red Door
Yet another film based on the themes from the novel 'The Demon Revels', written by Nicholas Smith and published more than two years before the appearance of 'Insidious'.

The guy who wrote the initial 'Insidious' story line miraculously used astral projection, demons, dreaming and possession to write a horror story. A little too much of a coincidence for my consideration but he had the sense to change the story line so as not to be done for plagiarism.

Although the latest offering, 'The Red Door', has pretty mush been slated by most it still brought in phenomenal revenue, which makes me feel a sorry for the author of 'The Demon Revels'.
