Corner Office

In this office satire, Orson, a straight-laced employee, retreats to a blissfully empty corner office to get away from his lackluster colleagues. But why does this seem to upset them so much?

    modern office Era.
I quite liked this movie, although it doesn't seem to be very well known at all. I don't blame them though. Many audience might find it a little more boring as not much actually happens here.... What attracted me? The message it delivers. In the competitive corporate world, or even in the employment market Comfort Zones in an individuals are not quite appreciated. Orson, the lead character in here finds his comfort zone in 'the room' that doesn't exists. As I see it, Andrew; the boss of The Authority comes in here to stop Arson's 'booming progression.' This is what happens in the real world, isn't it?

There are some people who can adjust to the corporate culture, but what happens to the people who cannot?

Appeals to narrower spectrum of viewers
I loved this film. It gently takes the audience into the mind of an unusual character. At first, it seems to be another anti big corporation film, with disgruntled and pigeon holed employees, merely existing without much hope of change. But then you notice how well it is filmed, (lots of details are intriguing, such as only black cars in the parking lot). Where is this going? The main character is anything but "regular", as we get to know his rich inner life as well as his social struggles. The writing is perceptive and subtle, and all the actors do well. The characters are at times slightly odd and unreal, but everything is seen through Orson's sensibility. In the end, what's real or not doesn't matter. We all need a Happy Place to go to these days. Mine is watching creative and thought provoking films like this one.
