Amazing movie and different than regular Bollywood bakwas
This movie is much better than the reviews given by "Critics" People are comparing Anil Kapoor with his son which is not fair , although Harshvardhan acted well but Anil Kapoor is veteran. The story line , cinematography, location and acting put together are much better than any masala Bollywood movie and I am sure it won't disappoint you. The theme and style of the movie is cool and resembles some of the great Hollywood movies set up in Texas or any US dessert. I liked the movie it did not bore me anywhere and I am done writing the reviews ..just filling line to complete the minimum lines for publishing a reviews.

    A terrific action-thriller and a solid Western.
I have recently started to get interested in the Western genre, and watching Thar was a splendid experience because of its strong performances, simple yet intriguing plot and the execution. It's filled with violent action, solid character drama and a ton of suspense. No doubt this is a work of true cinephiles who watch cinema from all over the world. Even if the final twist might result in many concluding this is a typical story, the whole buildup and development is done very well. As for the action, the chases and shooting scenes are spectacular.

The film's acting department delivers big time; Harshvardhan Kapoor, Anil Kapoor and Fatima Sana Shaikh are the stars of this story and their sincerity reflects in their performances. Even supporting characters end up leaving a solid impact. The backdrop/setting of the film is good for a Western, and the cinematography is also pretty commendable. While many might find the dramatic tone and slow-burn boring, the overall plot is gripping and the end product is a terrific Western action-thriller. By the time the climax arrives, you get something unexpectedly wild, and the ending leaves it memorable.

I haven't watched a lot of Westerns yet, but I did enjoy Thar a lot and to be honest, more than I expected. I watched it also to explore the genre and learn more about it, and I don't think it was a bad decision. Such honest efforts have to be appreciated in spite of the flaws/weaknesses, as the final product is much more superior than it sounds on paper.
