    Revival
Pretty much in line with the revival of movies from the late 90's & early 2000s - Strong links to I know what u did last summer (or in this case, last thanksgiving) and the 1st - 3rd installment of Scream. The satire (or moral?) aspect of a deranged, inconsiderate and ultimately brutal society is a new and appreciated angle mainly played out at the opening scene, but I'm not sure if it fit the tone overall. In any case it was quite an intense watch. Be prepared, there are quite some jump scares and extremely (!) graphic and disturbing scenes but overall the storytelling/flow was fine and even the showdown matched.

When they give away the identity of the killer in the first shot of the movie...
First shot of the movie: killer POV.

Second shot of the movie: killer identity.

I immediately thought: "must be bait, or a joke, or a lazy reference, but it's an instant 1/10 if it turns out to be true... but it can't be..."

But Eli Roth did it, he ruined the movie for "style", he's this childish and amateurish.

If I remember correctly a washed out Dario Argento did something like this in "Trauma".

Eli Roth must have thought: "Eheh, they will think it's just an "Halloween" reference but it's not... I will reveal the identity of the killer at the beginning of the movie and nobody will ever notice, I'm so clever. And when they'll notice in a few years they'll think I'm a genius"

But I've got it immediately, as many others probably have.

For what it's worth, if it wasn't for this "mistake", I would have rate this movie 5/10 or 6/10.

Also, Roth should have made this movie years ago when people were still talking about Grindhouse and the fake trailers...
