A kind of late night shows i would love to watch
If you are a fan of late night television show and also a horror fan? This is a must watch for you. Everything about the film is interesting. The 70s period shows are so convincing that it is like a telescope that takes me back to that time as an audience inside the studio. The cast and the crew involve in this film are great. The acting from everyone is full of quality. The sound production is exactly how the 70s would sound like. The story is introduced with much anticipation and suspense, yet never felt like they ham fisted with jump scares or cheap scares. Let's just say that this film took me by surprise and it is a refreshing experience for horror genre all round.

"The Room" of horror movies (if only)
If you have watched The Room from Tommy Wiseau, which became an iconic film becasue it was so bad that became a good and subject to many memes, you will experience the same with The Devil...

Similar bad writing, terrible acting, pointless plot, disjointed scenes, cheap special effects, and constant feeling that there will be sudden Monty Python animation breaking the movie, thus showing you how ridicoulous it is, yeah, it's that bad.

The movie was hyped by critics and audience alike, but there is nothing new or revolutionary about it and it was not even entertaining (unlike, again, The Room).

It reminds me of a Christian rock meme, which says: you are not making Christianity better, you are just making rock worse. For this movie is the same, they didn't make movies better, they just made horror genre worse.
