Argylle

When the plots of reclusive author Elly Conway's fictional espionage novels begin to mirror the covert actions of a real-life spy organization, quiet evenings at home become a thing of the past. Accompanied by her cat Alfie and Aiden, a cat-allergic spy, Elly races across the world to stay one step ahead of the killers as the line between Conway's fictional world and her real one begins to blur.

It's just okay, seems like something that we've seen before
"Dua Lipa and Henry Cavill in a movie? Yes, please!"

That should've been the title of this review, but unfortunately I have to say - the movie didn't offer anything great or amazing for us. It's just a forgettable attempt at an action comedy, that wouldn't even get the attention it did, were it not for the trailers that featured two of the world's hottest superstars.

The plot feels like something written by a teenager who dreams of being a director some day, and many plot points were just ridiculous, even for a goofy, over-the-top, comedy.

The movie isn't boring or bad, it's just not something special. As a watcher, I expect movies with such names as Henry Cavill, Dua Lipa, Bryce Dallas Howard, Bryan Cranston and John Cena to be amazing, fantastic and entertaining.

Unfortunately this movie is just on the level of "let's watch this on a lazy sunday" and nothing more.

The best bit is the mullet.
Honestly, this feels like watching the Producers. Feels like it was designed to be awful.

Lots of references, referred or otherwise. But nothing smart or design clever. Some MV classics like multiple colours and smoke in the middle of action sequences.

Otherwise this just feels like it was designed to fail.

Other than an appearance of a mullet, kudos to HC for being brilliant. Otherwise the rest of this just appears to be muck,

Would have been great to see something more clever, or even silly. But comparing Austin powers to this would make you wonder why Austin Powers didn't win an Oscar.

So genuinely would advise to avoid. And invest time in Kingsman for Directors better works.
