"Your reproductive system is more exposed them mine, presumably." Lilli Horning
I was pretty disappointed from the beginning. They spend more time on sparkling pictures of sub atomics then facts or story. Then it only gets worse from there. We get flashbacks in flashbacks in flashbacks. To help in the confusion sometime it is in black and white, and other times it is in full color without any relations as to why. Then there is that awful tinkling music that permeates but does not enhance the experience. The birthday suit scenes were fun to watch, but they were gratuitous. Can you say soap opera?

On the positive side it was fun to see all the different major actors and think, " Now where have I seen him/her before?" It looked like everyone wanted to get into the act. This was not a venue for out of work, over the hill actors. In the middle of the soap opera there were some real personalities and facts that gave the production some value.

The whole thing turns into a shallow conspiracy story. Or is it?

A side note is that it was interesting to see that Leslie Groves: Matt Damon wore the same shoulder patch that I did while I was in the Army Map Service.

A Thrilling and Unique Cinematic Experience
Oppenheimer is a surprisingly gripping and fascinating film. Despite its documentary style and lack of traditional action scenes, I found myself completely absorbed for the entire 3-hour runtime. The film delves into the life of J. Robert Oppenheimer, the mastermind behind the atomic bomb, presenting a detailed and compelling look at a pivotal moment in history.

What sets this movie apart is its ability to make historical events feel urgent and emotionally charged. The performances are outstanding, with each actor bringing depth and nuance to their roles. The cinematography is breathtaking, capturing the tension and beauty of the era with stunning visuals that enhance the storytelling.

The film's aesthetic is meticulously crafted, immersing the viewer in the 1940s and 50s. The attention to detail in the sets, costumes, and overall production design is remarkable, creating a rich and authentic backdrop for the story.

Anyone with an interest in the history of war and the development of the atomic bomb will find Oppenheimer incredibly engaging. However, the movie's appeal extends beyond history buffs. Its unique approach to storytelling, combined with powerful performances and beautiful cinematography, makes it a must-see for anyone who appreciates well-crafted cinema. Oppenheimer is not just a film; it's an experience that stays with you long after the credits roll. It's easily one of the most memorable movies I've seen this decade.
