One Piece Film Red

Uta — the most beloved singer in the world. Her voice, which she sings with while concealing her true identity, has been described as “otherworldly.” She will appear in public for the first time at a live concert. As the venue fills with all kinds of Uta fans — excited pirates, the Navy watching closely, and the Straw Hats led by Luffy who simply came to enjoy her sonorous performance — the voice that the whole world has been waiting for is about to resound.

Saved by being from One Piece
This movie is the first one I've had a chance to see, I admit I'm not a big fan of the movies although I am a fan of the series. However, the musical format of the movie within the One Piece universe doesn't fit me. I think Uta's story has been shoehorned into the One Piece plot in a bad way.

As strong points the information that the film gives about the intrahistory of One Piece: Shanks ,his past in the crew and Luffy's new gear. To highlight above all the battles, very well animated and surprising.

A priori, I 'm not recommend the movie, but if you are an extremely fan of One Piece maybe is interesting to see some scenes while the lastest episodes un manga releases in anime format.

A One Piece film with significant characters and world-ending stakes.
One challenge of making movies for such a long-running anime series like One Piece is that there are so many characters and aspects of the canon that it's hard to make a film that includes fan-favorite characters in a way that makes sense with the overall story. With Eiichiro Oda on board for One Piece Film: Red (2022), we finally have a movie that could easily be part of the canon for the series while also having stakes high enough to warrant the characters who appear to save the world.

While I definitely enjoy One Piece movies that string together powerful moves from the best characters, like Stampede (2019) did, most of the time the villains for these movies are so separated from the series as to be completely inconsequential. For Red, including Shanks' family was a smart way to make the story relevant to the wider One Piece world without having to ret-con much. This also allowed a variety of characters to make appearances, some of which haven't been seen in the series since their arc ended years ago.

Perhaps the best part about Red is how the threat of the villain achieving their goal is significant enough to put the entire world in danger. We are finally at the part in the mainline series where world-ending events are likely to be common, so stepping this level of significance up for a movie makes sense here. It also allowed powerful characters to make appearances in this movie because the threat was so great-thus making their inclusion something that made sense. Overall, fans of One Piece will probably enjoy this film, and those who aren't might enjoy the catchy songs included in it.

A One Piece film with significant characters and world-ending stakes, I give One Piece Film: Red 4.5 stars out of 5.

Nice Disney Movie. I felt a Sleep (LOL)
While Waiting For this Movie. My Friend Was Saying this movie is going to be the best Movie In D Anime Hostory. Just To Fool Me To Make Me Love One Piece More Than My Fav Anime Attack On Titan.

Anyway.... This Movie Is Trash. Cringe. And Garbage. I feel sleept For like 30 Mins And wake up again because of some noises. The Only good Of This Movie Is The Music And Songs Of UTA. The Music is 10/10. But The Whole Movie is Trash, Also For Not Showing Any Fights But Shanks Vs Marine.

And Who is Saying That This Movie is Good And comments Are Not Saying the truth. Just Watch It And u will Understand How Are They Transforming A Bad Show To A Good One With Lies.

    I had a great time!
I'm not caught up with One Piece by any means, but that didn't keep me from enjoying this film! The animation and effects are visually very appealing. The songs were tacky at the worst, and while the plot was pretty predictable, just going with the flow of the movie allowed me to enjoy the antics. I'm not sure how this plays into canon (if it IS canon), but Uta is decently complex and stunningly over-powered. I loved seeing the extent of her devil fruit powers, and her dynamic with Luffy was entertaining, too. Besides the crowd being a bit rowdy, I had no serious gripes with this movie. A fun watch, and if you're dedicated to the franchise, probably a lot to discuss too.

    Utterly Disappointed with the Movie
Fans expected it's about Shanks, they got excited that, they can finally see shanks in action, but it's totally different. It's about Uta, the adopted daughter & her nonsense, that's all is there in the movie. The worst story line and visuals I've ever seen in an anime movie. Action scenes are clumsy as f, luffy is out of character behaved very very wired. Almost 80 minutes of movie is headache, after that it got little better, but again a ruined ending. I've seen all the one piece movies, this one would the worst of all. Especially animation sucks. Only good thing is at the fag end we get to see a glimpse of, how strong is Shanks.

    Amazing, fantastic
Movie was amazing when you watch One Piece from the start and each and every single episodes you'll get this movie is one hell of a masterpiece. This movie has Action, adventure, comedy, Drama, music, good storyline, best animation. What else one movie can possibly provide. It was really worth to watch this movie. I'm saying on my own experience like if someone who is a New and went directly for One Piece -Red., he wouldn't get more than 80% of what's going on. So please I'd suggest Watch One Piece from the start atleast once in your Life. No other manga or anime can come close to the ONE PIECE.

    Complete "clickbait"
I'm a huge One Piece fan, but this movie is nothing about Shanks, just UTA concerts. It's practically a musical. Total waste of money and time, there is no wonder I was the only one in the cinema. The most boring cinematic experience I've ever had. If TOEI animation don't want to give cannon that's okay, they can just name to movie UTA THE DIVA or whatever this is about. This was a great opportunity (having in mind anime is gaining lots of popularity) to introduce the amazing one piece world to European and American market, but instead wasted our time and money and I for one am never stepping in cinema to watch another TOEI movie. Ever.

    It's not that good (boring)
I watched the whole movie and honestly the plot was really boring , fights felt REALLY overused and the twist was good but rather vauge? , the movie also feels like it's a musical rather than actual one piece movie. The effects and fights were pushed to almost extreme limits were instead of exciting it was boring and overused. I honestly expected a lot from it but it just wasn't it . I love the singer and songs but overall the movie isn't really it, it's not that good.

Idk honestly if i like the character uta as she's kind of too annoying to be ""likeable"" and ""appealing"" in this whole movie but i guess the creators intended it.

    Fantastic with Earworm music
One Piece Film Red is without a doubt one of the most unique movies of the One Piece series especially since it's the first to have a prominent female lead.

The story itself is engaging and heartfelt which is only amplified with the music and amazing visuals alongside them, and coming from someone who appreciates animation it was definitely very pleasing to the eye, especially when it comes to the fight scenes where everyone has their moment to shine.

The music is phenomenal and is what initially drew me in, Ado's vocal range is incredible and makes each song all the more powerful and yet the music aspect is what leads to people calling Film Red a bad movie which is understandable as not everyone likes musicals (although there are 7 songs in the entire soundtrack with an extra going unused in the film). However, the movie was heavily advertised with having the main theme "New Genesis" played in every trailer, dub and sub so it shouldn't be surprising that the movie would have a couple of songs especially with the main character Uta being described as a pop star.

Nonetheless, Film Red is most definitely a must watch for One Piece fans.

    Overwhelmed and satisfied
An unexpected film from Oda, very new and attractive. The first thing I have to say is that since I finished watching the movie Uta and the music stuck in my brain, Uta's voice and singing voice is very good and that's why you shouldn't miss it.

This movie focuses on Uta and Shanks more than the Straw Hats and I'm pretty happy with that, it's about time the movie should do something new rather than the old movies bring.

Don't listen to haters influence you, if you are a big fan of One Piece go see the movie. Most of them cry because they don't want to listen to any music and just want to fight all day from A to Z.

Luffy is still badass as usual, just wish Luffy and Shanks interacted a bit more. Just hope Oda can bring Uta back in the near future. Personally, this is OP's best movie.

Loved as a fan of shanks.
Ok. First to be honest, i would rate it 8/10 stars. But don't know why it's getting so much hate. I saw this movie after watching the 2 episodes which were shown in anime. It was obvious that movie will contain many songs as uta is the singer and the main character of this movie. I'm not a fan of Japanese music but i enjoyed those songs.

Now let's talk about positive things- if we compare it to previous one piece movies, this movie felt so much related to story. I don't know if it's 100% canon but i totally think it's all canon. I haven't seen all of the previous movies but I've seen all the post timeskip movies. All the movie were filler and contained only action scenes where the villains were shown to be unstoppable and mc will definately defeat them. Even some of them were shown equal to Roger and WB level. Still luffy defeated them. I'm not fan of only action movies. This movie felt so much realistic to the story. Also we got to know much about shanks. Which is undoubtedly one of the most mysterious person in one piece. Although it contained less action scenes, some of the scene were great. The scene where shanks haki can even knock vice admirals. It was definately best scene for me. This shows his true power and why he is a yonko. Also the scene where katakuri comes to save his sister, it just shows a hint how much he loves his family.

Some negative things for me were, so much attention to uta, less action, i mean they could have shown shanks vs admirals at least, also i felt law was less useful here. They literally shown him desperately getting hit saveral times. He can definitely do better.

I love One Piece, but man what was that ??? It was painful to watch from start to finish. We all love Shanks (and they know it) so they put him on the poster, make one of the worst One Piece movies and hope for the best.

Who are these people giving it good reviews ? Did we watch the same movie ? I'd genuinely be amazed with anyone actually enjoying watching this. If you expect to see some great fights or maybe a have peak into Shanks abilities, don't waste your time. If you expect some signature humour from the straw hats, don't watch it. Only watch it if you're so bored that you have 2 hours kill on a very bad song.

    unworthy of 25th anniversary
When I watched it in Japan, some people left their seat in the beginning because Uta was singing all the time. I agree she is good at singing, but 7 songs are way too much. I had expected Shanks because the title is "RED", but what I watched is FILM UTA unfortunately.

This is the first film for Jinbe, but he didn't speak so much. Also, the straw hat crew was not active at all even though they are main characters. I love them the most, so it was very disappointed.

And I don't like most of characters in this movie because they are NOT like original. Especially Luffy is totally different. I felt uneasy with his behaviors many times.

It' impossible to find any respect from it. Because the director changed the first episode of One Piece for the worse! Why Odacchi said OK to such an insane story? I regret watching it.

If you do not have anything more important to do . . .
. . . why NOT spend twenty bucks or more and two hours or more in order to view a film about an Evil Song Sheet. The most exciting thing that happens in many of the United Nations is that their grass grows. Who's to say that spending twenty bucks and two hours watching a picture about grass growing is a waste of money and time? Drawing that conclusion would make a reviewer appear to be culturally insensitive, at best. Perhaps Far Eastern countries in general and the Land of the Rising Sun in particular have a long history of being plagued by Evil Song Sheets. Unless you have a doctorate in Japanese studies or musical song sheets, you're not really in a position to voice a negative opinion. To each his own.
