    Safe Yet Enjoyable
Thematically messy and narratively familiar with the same ingredients and substance, Suzume is another addition from Makoto Shinkai who still can't let go and stop himself from riding the coattails of his magnum opus, Your Name. It is a formulaic film that looks visually beautiful with an emotionally charged storyline that breaks it own rules while failing to properly explore some of the ideas it presents with whimsy romance and dazzling spectacle starring teenagers and young adults voiced by capable actors. The film predictably treads safely while also being a lot more funnier and zany for this film is just Makoto Shinkai on cruise control.

    Another banger from Shinkai Makoto.
It was absolute breathtaking film. It was full of emotions and visually stunning. Some of you will know that Your Name, Tenki no ko, and Suzume are about disasters. Suzume really finished this kind of 'disaster series' with style. As you can see in trailer, this movie is mainly focused on stopping earthquakes with closing doors. Since Japan is one of the countries that has most earthquakes, this topic is very heavy and it has a potential to be controversial in negative ways. However, Shinkai Makoto really 'controlled' this topic making it one of the most grossing anime films not only in Japan, but worldwide. Surely recommend this film, personally second peak of Shinkai Makoto along with Your Name. (Im sorry that my review is lack of vocabulary and grammar. My mother tongue is not English, so my English skill is not high.)
