Atmospheric, disturbing but a tad unsatisfying
It's a work of art with an excellent cast. The looming threat of a spiders web is evident but the movie expertly makes you second guess where the story is going. The writing and direction is great and it's one of those movies that may need to be re-watched. The protagonist comes off as meek and pathetic but also comes off as devious and untrustworthy so Barry Keoghan's performance definitely takes the audience from Talented Mr Ripley to American psycho very fast. The score is great and the mystery of the direction of the story is guided by beautiful scenery and music that moves from pop to classical and it works. I didn't like the end but I respect the art of the movie.

    Speechless
I would like to write a coherent useful objective review for this film but ultimately it made me genuinely angry at how bad it is I'm not sure I can. But have to fill the minimum word count so here goes some kind of review for a film that I hate.

So, for me it is a hot mess of ideas and "shocking"scenes bunged together in an incoherent manner. I guess it's not aimed at my age as I'm in my 50s, but I found this to be so painfully bad, generic, stupid, nonsensical with a feel it was giving us a satire or comment of utmost importance but unfortunately for me at least it has left me feeling proper annoyed it even got financed!

A few "out there" scenes, fun as they are, a good film they do not make. It flits about leading you up garden paths plot wise only to reveal.. not much about anything. I say pick a lane. What is this film actually about? It ain't a surrealist piece, its not a horror film, it's not a serial killer film and it's not a satire of the rich film but it sort of dabbles in done of these areas and it yearns to tell us important things about our society...but for me fails! Massively. Some films that don't click I rewatch and can then see the light. I will never rewatch this by choice.
