    I don't get the love
I don't get the love for this movie. Yes, the flight sequences are decent, although sometimes a bit too predictable (especially if the same thing happens for the second time) and sometimes too unbelievable, but ok.

But the rest of the movie? The first 20 to 25 minutes evolve around a hypersonic test plane and build up to some admiral saying that drones are the future and pilots are out. This is the justification for the rest of the movie. Does the rest of the movie even mention the word drone? No, it doesn't. Chekhov's gun doesn't have a bullet.

Then there's considerable time for romantic interest and friendship. Unfortunately, this just means a string of Hollywood cliches. When character A says "This is not to time to do so.", character B will emphatically reply "This is precisely the time to do so." That's what passes for a deep dialog. It's pathetic.

This one did not take my breath away.

HANDS DOWN THE BEST MOVIE OF 2022!!!!!!
I LOVED this movie so much to the point where I have already re-watched it 4 times. I loved this movie because it really shows that the past can be the past if you let it & move on, if not the past has consequences you will face in the future. I also the topic of family & teamwork which is really important to me. A few of the characters reminded me of people that I know so it's always funny to think of that during the movie. I think this movie was the perfect sequel to the first movie & talking about Maverick & Rooster's relationship. My 2 favorite songs from the movie is "Great Balls of Fire" by Rooster & "Hold My Hand" by Lady Gaga.
