The epic saga of an America that once was real.
An America powered by hard work, the determination to succeed, and the ambition to achieve excellence. An America that still endures in the hearts of some of its citizens.

I found this film exceptionally inspiring. Well acted, well directed, well edited. Production quality was also exceptional.

A compelling story of triumph over adversity that really happened.

But can America ever regain such actual greatness again? It will take discipline, determination, courage, and a firm hand of leadership that does not falter, even in the face of overwhelming odds.

Most importantly, we must return to a culture based on objective reality, not feelings or delusions about some ephemeral personal reality or fantasy identity that we mentally construct for ourselves.

We must face that reality unflinchingly with the determination to settle for no less than a true, objective victory.

Can't imagine a more timely film
And it's done with a lot of skill and grace. It speaks very gently to a lot of what we've lost over the years, the value of hard work, the glory of honest competition, the struggle of the working poor against those with privilege and money. It's a wonderful true story that George Clooney was so right to bring to the screen.

I particularly liked learning about crew which I admit being totally clueless about. The film makes clear that it's oddly dependent on the bonding of the crew in a physical way, with the athletes working at their maximum output. That's a tough place to be while trying to bond.

The casting is perfect, the choice of location and the production values are exactly what's needed. This is story telling of a high order that will leave you feeling good about this little piece of sport history.
