You don't even smile, do you?
I must say, Blade Runner is a tough act to follow - considered by most to be the absolute pinnacle of cyber-punk sci-fi action... and this sequel comes far closer than it has any right to. The film follows K, a replicant police officer/blade runner who while hunting an older replicant discovers the impossible - that somehow... a replicant had a baby. The chase is on, between those who want to destroy all evidence of this phenomenon, and those who see it as a sign that replicants have worth beyond being servants. Visually the film is astounding, and is complemented with a great soundtrack. The direction and characters are superb, and this really does feel like a valid follow up to the original with its own story to tell, as opposed to just slapping the name onto a generic cyberpunk film to make some cash. Highly recommended.

It is one of the greatest films of all time.
I say it is one of the greatest because it is utterly unique and original, despite being sequel. It gives us indelible scenes never before captured, a score for the ages, a story that grips us from beginning to end. It is masterful. My only complaint is a third film hasn't been made yet.

I do not want to leave this world Mr. Villeneuve has created. I want to stay in it forever. The richness of the special effects lead us to want to discover more, to see new cities, visit new places. Of course, the casting and acting is superb.

It deserves to be on all-time great lists, in the top 10. The rating should be a solid 10, not 8. Anyone doubting this simply does not understand great films or science fiction, because this is the pinnacle of all filmmaking achievement.
