    Malignant (A BlumHouse masterpiece.)
James Wan is back with this new hit Malignant!!! And before we get started I would just like to take the time to thank Wan/BlumHouse for saving the HORROR GENRE as a whole in my opinion. I've never seen horror films that's have been able to capture such realistic encounters with the supernatural. I only say this because I've had my fair share of run-in's with the other side and just when I was too afraid to share those encounters, I then would see them within his films. It was good to know that I wasn't tripping lol.

I like how Wan started off slow in the beginning of his career with the "Saw" franchise and worked his way up the paranormal food chain and when he gave us INSIDIOUS that's when I knew that horror films would be different from here on out. I also like how he ties most of his horror films into one universe. Nonetheless, Blumhouse Productions recognized his vision and helped bring it to life. These days you can catch Wan directing the latest DC movie (Aquaman) or Fast And Furious franchise. Lights, Camera Action!

    Get drunk first
The movie isn't a 1 because of the humor. Several characters are pretty funny, but a lot of the movie looks like it's framed as being serious. I'm not positive which way they were trying to go.

It was something watching what looked for half the movie like the lead singer from Slipknot killing people.

This is best characterized as satire, imo, but I'm not sure the movie was meant to be that. Many of the "twists" were easy to see and the acting was sub par from actors I've seen do much better. The characters were pretty ridiculous and the story is abysmal.

If you're looking for something to get drunk with friends and laugh at, this is it. If you're looking for a horror film, this is not.
