Abysmal Garbage
This shoddy reiteration of a Disney classic is pointless and mean-spirited. The effects are horrible. The experience is insulting and mind-numbing. This property was only revived due to Guillermo del Toro's crack at the story - a highly original and moving one, at that - being released the same year. Spare your brain cells and avoid this one altogether. A soggy, pitiful, ugly and worthless embarrassment.
This silly medium demands that I use up a character limit. I'm not really interested in talking about this movie beyond what I've already said, this trash is really trash! Don't watch it. You're complicit in this whole nasty corrupt business if you do. I feel tons of shame, personally, for having subjected myself to this thing, so spare yourself some heartache and check out literally anything else. - rodcr-74223 - 20 December 2022
How could they ruin it so badly?
It's Disney, so I wasn't expecting something like the great Guilhermo Del Toro version.
But even Disney told a very good story in 1940, in the "original" Pinocchio... ok, the 1940 animation it's nothing like the original story written in Italy on the 19th century; but it's still a joyfull story, and introduced one of the most beautiful songs ever.
This 2022 version, although... just another Disney penny maker... a soulless, dull and boring movie.
Only interesting thing is to notice how the Pleasure Island resembles the Disney Parks themselves... surely it was not proposital, yet one cannot shake off this resemblance.
