The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare

The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare

In 1940, Winston Churchill and Ian Fleming form a clandestine combat organization for Britain's military that changes the course of World War II and prefigures the modern black ops unit through its unconventional and entirely ‘ungentlemanly’ fighting techniques against the Nazis.

    Guy Ritchie's Worst Film
This film has a very good cast and is based extremely loosely on a true story but what a shame that it is so incredibly bad. Think of the suspense at the start of Inglorious Basterds when Christophe Waltz enters the French house and how that has you on the edge of your seat. Well, this is the exact opposite. No suspense, poorly created characters that are unrelatable, very weak attempts at comedy and baddies that are unable to defend themselves despite being trained soldiers, etc, etc . 1 out of 10 is being extremely generous. Hopefully Guy Ritchie will do better in the future and perhaps he will one day again make something as good as Lock Stock.

The Best Guy Ritchie Big Budget Film
Guy Ritchie made some great British action comedy films at low budget, but his bug budgeted films were poorly made, even Sherlock Holmes wtih RDJ. He always over stylized the choreography of the action scenes, again and again. Until The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.

This prequel to 007, truly was made in the old film style, reminding me war films of the golden era Hollywood. Even Cavill seemingly gave David Niven a nod of respect by improvising Niven's devilish charm, comments and smiles. Nicen was the first actor to play 007 in big screen.

Ignore all the paid critics and nay sayers, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare will be an iconic film in the near future.

I still wish that Cavill will be the next 007 and Brosan as M, tho.
