    A thought-provoking exploration of heroism
"Samaritan" takes audiences on a suspenseful journey into the life of a young boy who believes he's discovered a real-life superhero living in his neighborhood. As he embarks on a quest to uncover the truth, he finds himself drawn into a web of secrets and danger.

The film boasts strong performances from its cast, with standout performances from the young lead actor and the seasoned veterans who support him. The cinematography is visually striking, capturing the gritty urban landscape and adding to the tension of the story.

However, "Samaritan" struggles to maintain momentum throughout its runtime, with pacing issues and predictable plot twists detracting from its overall impact. While the film delivers plenty of thrills and suspenseful moments, it ultimately falls short of its potential to deliver a truly gripping narrative.

Despite its shortcomings, "Samaritan" offers an entertaining ride for fans of the thriller genre, with enough twists and turns to keep audiences engaged until the end. However, those seeking a more tightly woven plot may find themselves disappointed by its lack of depth.

    Entertaining
I finally got to check out Stallone's dark superhero flick. I thought Sly was great in this and he had some good dialogue to boot. Nothing in this movie could happen in real life. It's quite obvious that Samaritan is a comic book movie by design, by the look and the tone . Samaritan sometimes gets a little corny and cartoonish(especially with the villains), not being believable as a street gang and some of the lamest bad guys I have ever seen. Only the street gang in Kevin Bacon's Death Sentence are worse (minus John Goodman, of course). I am sometimes reminded of Chow Yun Fat's Bulletproof Monk, another flawed comic book film (but with its strong points too). While Samaritan won't rank as one of the best comic book movies of all time, I did enjoy it and Sly is really good here. Presently Samaritan is only available for streaming on Amazon. Hopefully it will get released on blu Ray soon.
