    Watch it more than once
I thought this was a solid 7 first time through. Second time through it grew on me. 3rd time it's one of my favorites. I don't know why everyone is hating on this. It's a solid movie with good actors. I think DJ did a good performance, it was definitely not what you usually expect from him. But I thought that was a nice change from the straight man comedies he usually does. I haven't read the comic AR know the back story to Black Adam and honestly I'm just filling space at this time.

So like I said watch it a couple times I think you'll really like it after watching it two or three times. Just sit back and enjoy the movie.

Sloppy movie made just to give The Rock a role
I feel like this movie was made simply to give Dwayne Johnson a role and to use his star power to sell movie tickets. I had never heard of Black Adam before and would do fine if I never heard of him again. First of all, what an awful name for a superhero! The CGI was very artificial in appearance. The characters had no backstory or exposition. How did Black Adam not have an accent earlier in the movie but not later? It all made no sense as characters always ended up being in the right place at the right time with no other extras around. It was as if they were the only people on the planet! Continuous action with little plot. Black Adam needs to go back to sleep.

    Fun to watch
Let me start remarking Pierce Brosnan's excellent performance, he steals the show in every scene he's in. The Rock, in a different kind of role, also delivers a good performance (I liked the dramatic depth he brings in the flashback scenes). About the movie, what more can I say: it's action packed, has a high kill count, it's fast paced and over the top. It has great action sequences (although heavy in CGI), the supporting cast does a good job, but, logically, there are some issues: the main villain Ishmael/Sabbac/King Ahk-Ton and Hawkman didn't impress me at all, has a good soundtrack and there are some nice camerawork that I appreciated. All in all is what you come to expect from a comic book movie and, most importantly, it's lots of fun. 6/10.

    A fine antihero movie
Black Adam is a premiere example of a film full of good ideas, yet mired by weak execution. This is unfortunate for a project that clearly was able to garner such a significant budget, making the final product all the more disappointing. There is not one singular issue the screenplay or production suffers from, either, as every element contributes to creating an often boring two hours. Between subpar character development and a simple surplus of unnecessary roles, the screenplay becomes convoluted. No theme can be quite driven home, then, even while the intriguing concept of a hero that is needed, versus being deserved, is introduced (i.e. The opposite of Nolan's Batman. Unfortunately, Black Adam is unable to distinguish himself as a great antihero because of the writers choice to suit the character to the plot instead of letting the character go on a genuine journey. The idea behind his anti-heroism is somehow especially uninteresting, even. What truly makes the story dull, however, is a mix of uninspired dialogue and awfully written comedy. The cast's delivery of each joke lacks energy, as if they already seemingly knew the humor was not working. Action could have been Black Adam's saving grace, yet also often falls to the film's overarching pattern of boringness. The scenes are CGI-fests that lack choreography and prove over-edited, in addition to the poorly explicated superhero abilities at play. To be fair, though, some cool moments do result from these various scenes. Regardless, Black Adam can be avoided and should only be viewed by the most avid Shazam! Or even just superhero genre fans.

Black Adam - A Big, Dumb, Generic Superhero Action Film
Don't go into Black Adam expecting some well-written, powerful film. Instead, go into it expecting Dwayne Johnson punching a bunch of people and good visuals and you won't be dissapointed. Dwayne Johnson pretty much just plays himself in this movie, as he does in every movie so not much to say on that note. Most of the side characters are not well acted, with the exception of the hawk guy and Dr. Fate. The effects and cinematography are really good looking, but there are some scenes with excessive slow motion shots that look kinda stupid. But yeah, just go into this film wanting some stupid superhero film and nothing else.

    Fun, entertaining
Bottom line: Fun, entertaining, I was glad I got my butt out to the theater to watch this one. Is the rock a Shakespearian level thespian? Was this the greatest movie ever made? No to both. But it's nice to see a ripped superhero just like in the comic books and this movie was by far the best superhero movie made since Spiderman No Way Home. It's just nice to return to the old days of cinema, where you could just go see a great action movie without being preached to and have the studio and actors actually care about the fan base. Sidenote: this has some great action sequences and had the grit and darker feel of a Snyder film so I think Synder fans and DC fans in general would like this. Advice to WB's or whoever owns the property in the future: Make more quality DC content! Not all movies have to be a billion plus blockbusters. Get good writers, make DC Universe with continuity, work with the fans, and exploit the IP you have! I guarantee you'll make a profit, have loyal fans, and make billions in merchandising.

    HOOOOOLY SH**********T!!!!!!!
Black Adam is my movie of the year. It truly brings a tear to my eye. The emotions, the characters, the effects. Probably the greatest superhero movie ever made. It brings true, real emotion out, while also entertaining me with overstimulation of fights. It feels like I was watching a modern piece of art being made in front of me. Honestly, I didn't know much about any of the characters of this movie but now I feel like i understand everyone fully. I understand their motives, and their incredible character development. My favourite character HAS to be Adam. He fills out badass beating to (my least favourite character) Hawkman throughout the whole movie. It is AMAZING!!!! I truly think this will go down as one the movies of all time. I think if you need to really settle down, laugh, cry, be on the edge on your seat. THIS is the perfect movie for you. Trust me!!!! James Gunn HAS to bring The Rock back for the sequel. He'll always has a fan in me..

Yet another most horrible Marvel relaase
I do not know here to start and where to end, its like watching a Japanese video game. All possible CGs are there and surely Japanese would have helped em to make such CGs. Nothing real at all, all is 100% fake and total waste of time and money. NO story no acting, even visuals are not appealing at all. Am am sure Marvel is totally inclining towards toddlers or small kids. I just continue to watch this movie to enjoy audio as audio is good though. Marvels are out of stories and only stupidities are filling their brains and they can help humanity with all they money they waste on making such movies.

Better than any Marvel films released in 2022. Action packed film with great graphical representation and star cast.
Storyline was the only thing which could've been better but overall the film is amazing if you wish to sit back and enjoy an action sci fi movie. For me this is the best superhero film of the year, period!

What works: Action pieces, the graphics, cast ( obviously The Rock), Costume design and the background score. All sums up the one awesome cinema experience one can only dream of.

    What doesn't work

storyline is bit slow but the action sequences covers it up so doesn't feel like watching Thor Love and Thunder or Doctor strange madness of multiverse. Sarcastic Rock Jokes worked in some of the scenes but felt like being pushed too hard.

I did like it... a lot!
The story line might be a bit superficial, but I did like The Rock in this role, he fits well in it.

I don't understand the negative review, from people reading just comics books, in my opinion they should just continue to read the comics, and do not go to cinema, staying in their own world if they don't want things to change a little bit.

It is action packed, vfx are nice, even some funny meme.

I did like the performance of Pierce Brosnan, a bit less the guys with the wings, I felt he was over acting.

So why 10 out of 10, if I criticize few things, because over all it was a good movie that I can watch and re-watch again, and still enjoying it again.

Black Adam ROCKS!!!! top 5 DC movies
The Rock finally has found a perfect roll that doesn't make look the same or give the same vibe as usual. I 💯 percent believe with him and Henry Cavil they can CRUSH THE MARVEL universe together, I hope they find a way to work threw whatever is going on because Superman & Black Adam, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman will bring in 2023 will be the year of DC Especially with superman and the rest of the gang. DC has yet to scratch the surface of there potential. Henry Cavil and the rock would crush the cinematic universe and break so many box office records it's scary how much ch money and moves can be made.

    Liked It
The film was exactly what I was hoping it would be. The introduction to a really cool character. The action sequences were awesome and it was great to see a couple of other characters to life on the big screen.

The story was a formality to get to the action which was the primary reason for me wanting to see this film.

I know people are disappointed or underwhelmed by the film, which I understand, but I liked it and would recommend it.

With the shake up of the DCU, it doesn't seem likely to be another one. I do hope that the Black Adam could be featured in a film against the Justice League though.

A Sunday afternoon popcorn muncher that you will quickly forget.
It might as well have been entitled 'Superhero Movie- The Movie'. It didn't make me want to shut it off, so at least it's got that going for it. And that seems to be the state of the DC movie universe today, I'm mildly impressed when the movie doesn't just suck.

Good Stuff: cinematography was better than average, and the direction was good as well, the acting wasn't terrible, one day The Rock will find his breakout role but I don't think this is it. A surprising amount of violent death including a guy getting ripped in half... that's refreshing.

The Bad: GENERIC, very, very, secret-super-jet-hanger-hidden-under-the-mansion, generic, so many characters I know nothing about and care about even less, the only one I recognized was Hawk, or The Hawk, or Hawkman, or whatever he's called, not exactly at the top of my fanboy list.

Watchable once, probably won't watch it again. Sometimes that's enough.
