Did Bean and Janssen just need an easy paycheck?
The only reason I gave this 2 stars instead of 1 is because Sean Bean is in it, and does his usual fine job. As Sir Christopher Lee once said, "Everyone has to do a terrible movie sometime. The trick is not to be terrible in it." This movie is terrible, but Bean is not. Famke Janssen, who can be quite good, was stuck in a role riddled with cliches and trite dialog. Not her fault, though.

The plot is one that's been used in various iterations countless times before, making it as predictable as you can imagine. I think our oldest cat sorted it out partway through, which explains why she fell asleep after less than half an hour. She didn't see the point of watching the rest of it. She's the lucky one.

The look and feel of it makes me think it was made by game developers and not filmmakers, especially the climactic fight scene, which looks like it came straight from a PS or XBox game, and an older one at that.

I kept hoping it would get better as it went on, but it didn't; it actually got worse.

    Phoenix versus Phoenix
Fenix against Fenix. Certainly Famke Jansen was Felix in the X-Men, and in this "Knights of the Zodiac" movie, he takes on the Phoenix Knight (Diego Tinoco). The pseudo battle between Seiya and Athena reminded me of the scene in X-Men 3 where Wolverine tries to get close to Jean Gray, i.e. Phoenix, to stop her. It was nice to see Nick Stahl, we haven't seen him since Terminator 3, in his role as Cassious. However, the sum of the film showed mediocre CGI and a weak story. Mackenyu is spectacular in all his films but in this film he seems unmotivated and without direction. Sienna's character very poorly acted.
