This is VERY mid
The characters, and story are worse than anything I've ever seen. The animation is good, and the easter eggs can be cool, but everything else this movie falls down into the depths of the world -1. I hate it. Compared to other video game movies it is still bad. The Sonic 2 movie was a good movie, and the first one was good too. The angry birds movie was good, but the 2nd was less fortunate. Wreck-It Ralph was full of references, but in there they didn't take away from the story/ Pretty much everything before that was bad. I feel like their gonna release a 2nd one, which will either be worse or 7/10. Overall I give it 4 stars. - bevanaaron - 8 June 2024
Easy Watch
A really easy watch. I expected Peach to be kidnapped as I'm sure that's what the games are about however this time, Mario and Luigi are humans who teleport to different worlds after investigating a green pipe. Luigi is the unfortunate character to fall into the hands of Bowser and the others all need to team up to rescue him. The film has a quite a bit of thought in it and references to the games which I like, it doesn't do anything to unexpected and extraordinary but it is a decent family film that could be easily watched again. Little adventurer Toad is a brilliant character, providing a lot of the humour and there's plenty of recognisable voices in this one.
