    NOT about Tony....it's about dickie
What the heck. Others have complained about the movie being about Dickie...and they are RIGHT!. So disappointing! The actor how plays Dickie is a good actor IN OTHER ROLES. HIs performance reminded me more of Richie Aprio <sp. His voice and movements seemed very similar to Richie. The entire riot etc should have been thrown out. I believe it was the director's fault not to see that Dickie was moving and sounding like Richie. It was Chases fault the he wanted to put in the riot because he remembered that time in history and lived it. It totally ruined the show. It was not based on Tony or how Tony was "made" Gandolifini's son did an excellant job, when they allowed him to be on screen. This was a WASTE of time. I wish I'd never watched the movie. Pathetic.

An Enjoyable Mob Movie - Watch With An Open Mind
It's taken the young Tony from Sopranos and made his early life into a Godfather/mafioso-style theme. He makes promises with his beloved Uncle which is the president and narrative for him to follow later in his life. His own code.

So it's a hard one. I've not seen Sopranos yet but I really enjoyed this as it was excellent music; good visuals; nice cinematography; old cars; American street smarts and plenty of violence.

There are a lot of takes from similar movies but it does a good job of the cosmetics of the era. I'm not too sure on how accurate the storyline is as I've not watched the Sopranos yet (I'm in England).

What I did enjoy was a really fun and atmospheric mafioso movie. It's got that classic Italian home-cooking and family-orientated lifestyle which is a bedrock for their society.

The men are clearly in command of the household and businesses with the women doing everything else and looking after the children. It's very male-dominated and males are expected to care and finance the whole family in return for dedicated partnerships.

Now I love the culture aspects of the movie and the Black Panther stuff was nailed. It may not be an accurate homage to the Sopranos but I thought it was an excellent home to the era especially the Detroit riots of the 1960's.

The bit with the tank coming in on the street and national guard being deployed was very real and accurate. Well done to the film-makers for portraying that chaos. It's just a shame that people will slate this as it's not quite The Sopranos they imagined.
