It's so bad! (by which I mean wicked; by which I mean it's an appealing narrative).
Engaging and very satisfying narrative that is more about personal redemption than prejudice. I might have liked more on how people turn to crime when they are not afforded a real opportunity to integrate but that is not part of this movie.

It's a story of friendship and how personal growth challenges are friendships as charismatic characters are brought to consider that there may be a better life for them. Clearly an homage Heist genre, but the plot is not dedicated to just watching one heist. There is a lot established early so we can be brought back to it. At least one major reveal is actually really predictable but there is still much I predicted that never happened so: swings and roundabouts.

The animation style is slick, chic and maybe even a little retro as they admirably forego detailed textures while maintaining a three-dimensional look. The eyes, among other things, sort of look drawn on as an afterthought but it really cool.

I want to call this a more mature example of animated story stelling. The anthropomorphism does not undermine that but the insufferable flatulence does. It's plot relevant at least but I am glad I watched this movie alone.

And finally, every scene is realized with panache; the choreography, both dance or fight, is breathtaking.

I really love that there are no big name actors in this with the possible exception of Awkafina. Is she famous? She was in Angry Birds 2 and one other thing. Is she a musician? Because she does the pretentious musician thing of having a mononomial stage name.

Any...good stuff that moves to a brilliant climax.

One of the best non-horror movies released this year
It was a good movie, it's a movie you can watch with your family, the characters are interesting everyone has their own role and nothing feels forced, like the traits all the characters have, the love between diane and wolf and so on. The story as well was good. Even though the story of criminals pretending to be good just so that they can be bad again is basic, the part where wolf actually wants to turn good was interesting and original. The shift in everything felt natural, like the part where they found out Marmalade was evil, the part where Diane was The Crimson Paw etc. I've watched it around 6 times these past 2 weeks, because i don't know what to watch and i liked this movie a lot, it brings me comfort like no other movie I've watched.
